Building on our proud 44-year history of commissioning and presenting inspiring and ground-breaking new Australian art, Sydney Festival returns with a program that celebrates the best work from our finest artists and companies.
2020 has been a challenging year, and to kickstart 2021 we’re reconnecting communities and reinvigorating Australia’s arts.
The Festival runs from Wednesday 6 January to Tuesday 26 January. That’s 21 days of big ideas and cutting-edge theatre, music, cabaret, dance, and visual art.

Sydney Festival 2021 Dates, Program, Music Lineup & Free Events
The Sydney Festival offers a huge program of events including large installations, circus performances, dance and comedy acts, cabaret, and live theatre. The festival is held in a range of venues all over the Sydney CBD including the Art Gallery of NSW, Artspace, Arts Centre, City Recital Hall, State Library of NSW, Sydney Harbour, The Domain, Sydney Opera House, and Sydney Town Hall.
There are many free exhibitions available around the city including circus performances, visual art, and talks. There are also ticketed shows which can be purchased as a single ticket, or as a multipack. For those planning on seeing a few shows, you will save money by purchasing a multi-pack. Gift Vouchers are also available.
Make a night of it by enjoying ‘Festival Feasts’ where you can attend some of Sydney’s top restaurants choose from a $30 or $55 a la carte menu.
The best way to get to the Sydney Festival is by public transport.
